Scrappy Trip-A-Long

I finished my scrappy-trip-a-long quilt.  This quilt is for my mom, a late mother's day gift from last year!  She requested a purple, yellow and green quilt, so here it is.  I love this quilt!  These aren't "my colors", but I do love the way they work together.  And the scrappy, I love the scrappy!

I think you can see the quilting a bit more here.  I wanted to accent the diamond pattern, so I quilted swirls in that part, and straight lines in all the rest.  Those straight lines are killer!!  I started using my walking foot, and that was taking forever, so I switched to my free motion foot, and went to town!  Now I use the term "straight lines" loosely.  They aren't perfectly straight, and they aren't perfectly spaced and I'm o.k. with that.  I think perfection is overrated.

And here's the backside.  I think you can see the quilting better from the backside.  It was really sunny yesterday, (don't hate me because I'm in California and not buried under snow), so the pictures are rather bright, but I think you can still see all the quilting.

If you want to make your own scrappy trip around the world quilt you can find the instructions on Quiltville's blog here.  And if you want to join in on the trip-a-long on Flickr you can do that here.

I've already started cutting out a new quilt.  I'll show you that tomorrow on my WIP it Wednesday post.
